One point of discussion in the house is whether they should sell the old house and make way for a tower where they can all be accommodated in separate flats. The family is close knit and bound together by values. Their younger son Bal (Bal Karve) and his wife Shalini (Amita Khopkar) have two daughters -Latika and Kalika. Their eldest son Prabhakar (Sanjay Mone) and his wife (Suhas Joshi) have three children - Prashant (Sunil Barve), Anand (Bharat Jadhav) and Alka. His wife Mai (Prema Sakhardande) is a loving woman and is like a mother to her daughters-in-law. The patriarch of the family Anna (Sudhir Joshi) is an ex-freedom fighter and likes to write letters to the editor demanding a ban on nuclear weapons.
